TECHNICAL MANAGER- 1 POSITION
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager will be responsible for facilitating high quality maintenance and repairs of broadcast systems and related facilities owned or operated by Trans World Radio Kenya and Sifa FM network.
The Manager will support; the daily production and operations of the organizations’ Network including audio and video production, staff support and training, on-air studio operations and overseeing the strategic direction of broadcast technologies and systems.
Position: Full-Time
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up new sites, equipment and studios.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Monitor and operate the broadcast and studio systems.
- Make emergency repairs to equipment and substitute signal in case of signal failure.
- Maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of broadcast hardware and software
- Supervise other broadcast technical staff and mentor them.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
- Prepare monthly, annual reports for the Management and board outlining the achievement and progress of the department
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email and in-person
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the Job
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the work.
- Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, system or products including artistic contributions.
- Managing one’s own time and time of others
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Serve as member of the Management team
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in the relevant field
- At least five (5) years of experience in broadcasting/media environment
- Must have worked in managerial position for at least two (2) years in a similar organization
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of IT/IS systems will be an added advantage.
