Albert attributes his achievements to Sifa FM Radio for nurturing, shaping and catapulting him to such historical and highly celebrated achievements.

Albert Mwadime Mwanyasi

Albert, the last born of four, was born and bred at Kilulunyi Village in Taita Taveta County. Albert was passionate about journalism hence joining St. Andrews East Africa College of Management to pursue a course in Journalism and Media Studies.

He first joined Sifa FM Voi in 2014 as an attaché and made gradual but incremental steps forward in his career path as a journalist. Just in three months as an attaché., his peculiarity and hard work made him walk high and tall amongst his contemporaries.

In a pool of many attachés, he seized an opportunity to serve as an intern in the same radio station. After working for two years in the same position at Sifa FM Voi, he transferred to Sifa FM Marsabit in March 2016, where he has served as a producer, radio presenter and news anchor.

One of the most admirable character traits that Albert has is his desire to make a difference in society and to be a voice for the voiceless

It was no shock to the team when Albert became the first journalist in Kenya to clinch the topmost position – Media Council of Kenya best grantee Award- on 5th May 2020, in the 2020 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) competition.

Being nominated as the best grantee at the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) was the biggest success story in his career as a journalist; however, he describes it as a journey full of commitment, discipline and consistency.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Albert received four grants from the Media Council of Kenya and consequently gaining four consecutive entries to the AJEA awards.

In 2019, Albert Won a BBC Media Action Climate Change Story Challenge award. This Award greatly motivated him after his involvement in the Production of Weather and Climate Change programs with BBC Media Action since December 2018-2020.
