From near divorce to a testimony of love, faith, and healing Gladys’ story is a powerful reminder that no situation is beyond God’s reach. “I unwillingly walked into Sifa Night broken, I walked out with my husband saved and my marriage healed”

Thirteen years ago, Gladys Mwamiko stood at the altar full of joy and dreams. She had just married the love of her life. As a Christian woman, she believed her marriage was built on a solid foundation of love, faith, and hope. To her, life was just beginning, and it was beautiful.
But one year later, everything started to unravel.
Her husband began drinking. He would come home late, spend all his earnings, and slowly, the man she had once admired became a stranger.
“He started drinking alcohol, coming home late, and using all the money he had made. I became frustrated and stressed because of his behavior.” Gladys recalls, her voice soft but steady as we sit together after the Sifa Night event in Kajiado County.
Gladys, who had traveled from Taita Taveta to Sifa night in Kajiado County, opened her heart to me in a quiet moment over morning tea.
Behind her calm demeanor is a woman who once reached the edge of despair.
“I was deeply depressed. Watching the man I loved turn into someone I barely recognized, it was heartbreaking. He even stopped being a husband, a father, a provider.”
As things worsened, Gladys began to lose herself. She stopped going to church. She stopped listening and reading the Word. She turned her back on God and would not want anything that reminded her of her salvation.
“I gave up on everything, even my salvation. I felt abandoned, alone, and broken.”
But then, something unexpected happened.
As things continued to get worse, one day Sifa FM Voi teamed up with Kilifi listeners Fans Club and organized for Sifa Night (a night of prayers, praise and worship) at Manoa Pentecostal Church in Taita Taveta County, just a short distance from her home. Gladys had no intention of going to the revival. In her words, she had stopped caring. But her children were curious about the event that the neighbors and other children were talking about and was being announced on Sifa FM, and they went.
“I was not interested in the event and only went there that Saturday night to pick my children as it was getting very late. I didn’t want to be there.”
She arrived just after 9:00 p.m., sat quietly at the back of the church, waiting. But God wasn’t done with her. From the pulpit, Pastor Robert Baya’s words pierced through the crowd. He spoke of a woman in their midst whose life was about to change if only she would surrender back to Jesus.
Something stirred deep within her heart. Gladys knew those words were for her. She stood up and walked straight to the altar. In that moment, everything changed. She didn’t know that her husband had also come looking for the children and sat there, as others joined her at the alter among them was her husband, right behind her. Together, they gave their lives to Jesus.
“That night saved us. It saved me. It saved my marriage.”
Since then, Gladys has returned to church. She’s joined the praise and worship team. Her husband is now a transformed man; loving, present, and teetotaler. Both are now active members of the Church and the Sifa Fans Club in Taita Taveta.
“Our home is full of peace again. We enjoy serving God not just in church, but through the Sifa FM family. That’s why my husband encouraged me to attend this Sifa Night in Kajiado. He stayed home with the kids.”
Gladys received a special gift during the event: a new Bible, handed to her by Assistant SIFA FM General Manager Edgar Kalimbo, to help her continue growing in faith. She also requested a radio so her family could keep listening to Sifa FM as she has been listening thru her phone. She testified how the station has helped in her grow spiritually thru programs like Neno Litaendelea, Matumaini Dorothy’s Devotion etc.
