Marre is a regular listener of Sifa Fm in Marsabit and she owes her spiritual strength to the station’s broadcasts and TWR Kenya programs. Although she has not been to her her local church for the past 3 years since Covid-19 was reported in Kenya, but feels as if she has been attending church services through the radio. She narrates how Sifa Fm Marsabit Station and specifically ITM Swahili (Uzima wa Milele) program which airs at the station every Sunday at 11am nourishes her spiritual life.
In Touch Ministries (ITM program) is the teaching ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley and is dedicated to leading people worldwide into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and strengthening the local church.
“I have not attended any church service for the last 3 years, but I always make sure every Sunday I tune to SIFA FM radio ready for the morning breakfast show ‘Rauka na Sifa’ (Arise with Sifa) and the entire Sunday programming which is a blessing to me.” Narrates the die-hard listener of the station. Covid 19 pandemic was also not the only reason for her not attending church service. Tragedy struck her family in 2020 even when churches were partially opened.
“My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer since 2019 and now I have to stay at home to take care of him. I don’t have time to go anywhere but stay in the house and attend to him. It’s always been my wish to attend church service but it has not been possible because of the daily house chores and the support my husband needs” She continues testifying.
Additionally she says that life has been unbearable for her and sometimes she feels like giving up in life. She describes how at times she falls into deep thoughts and tears keep rolling down her checks but her ailing husband always reminds her how faithful God has been to them for the last 3 years since he got bedridden.
“I am grateful to God that my first born child is an engineer as the rest of my children are jobless. My husband got ill in the year 2018 and was diagnosed with colon cancer in the early 2019. Mr. Nathaniel Boru worked as a civil servant but because of the illness he was forced to retire. The retirement benefit is what has been carrying us along for treatment and taking care of other basic needs at home for the last two years, only for last year all that we had was depleted. Since then we have been depending on our son for my husband treatment and family upkeep. He however narrates that sometimes they are forced to stay at home without medication because of lack of funds.” She gives account.
“At times it seems I’m losing hope but the moment I listen to Sifa Fm I feel encouraged and reenergized, which gives me the strength to continue pressing on.”
She requests that TWR-Kenya should consider producing Uzima wa Milele program in local dialect for easy understanding among the majority local listeners.
“My prayer is that very soon the program will air in the local dialect so that more people will be reached with the word of encouragement in their heart language to create a positive lasting life impact especially at the grassroots level.”
She concludes by thanking Sifa FM Stations and the TWR-Kenya family for the noble job they are doing to preach and teach the word of God via airwaves. It is her prayer that God will continue expanding the organization and staff to reach many lives in the globe with the Word of God.
