“My radio is out of bound for anyone in the house. It is always tuned to Sifa FM because that is where l make my Morning devotions from,… programs ignites me spiritually thus making me to wish that I would be able to preach like I used to do while I was still a youth.”
It is exactly at 2.38 pm. and the scorching Marsabit sun is at its optimum accompanied by the dusty winds. All in all it is a red letter day because am set to meet one of my adherent listener. I hasten my footsteps as I approach Anglican Church of Kenya St. Peters’ Cathedral Marsabit as I would not want to be reprimanded by an eighty-year-old man for keeping him waiting.
Upon my arrival at the church compound, I walk towards where Canon Solomon Ginna is seated under a shade, we exchange pleasantries, nothing could hide his excitement upon seeing me as was written all over his face. I grab my sit and we begin our conversation. Canon begins by reflecting on his younger years and the ups and down he has faced in doing God’s work especially in a hardship area like Marsabit County. He also shares on how Sifa FM Marsabit has been a very powerful gospel transformation vessel to the residents of the Northern Kenya and the region at large.
As we continue with the conversation, I see some congregants coming out of the church after attending prayers. Most of them are looking at our direction and after realizing that their Canon is having an interview with the Mad-rijenna morning show host on SIFA FM, they briefly pass by to say hi with smiles all over their faces. I suspected Canon must have hinted to them about our meeting.
“Whenever I tune in to Sifa FM to listen to the breakfast show and hear the Word of God in different languages and formats, I feel spiritually rejuvenated and reminded of the long-awaited eternal life.” Canon Ginna shared .
“The zeal and fire that comes from listening to the Neno Litaendelea, Knowing God, Dorothy’s Daily Devotion, Uzima wa Milele and other Trans World Radio Kenya programs ignites me spiritually thus making me to wish that I would be able to preach like I used to do while I was still a youth.” He added
Apart from ministry, Canon Ginna is a family man blessed with three children and is among one of the founders of St. Peters ACK Cathedral Church in Marsabit County. His favorite bible scripture, Psalms 23 and it became his favorite after he heard the way it was explained in the Neno Litaendelea thru the Bible radio program by Pastor Geoffrey Wanjala Munialo. Stating that it has been one of his pillar scriptures as it encourages and challenges him as a believer and a servant.
“God is our shepherded we would lack nothing for our spiritual and physical life.” He said.
Emphasizing on how deep his journey has been with God through listening to Sifa FM, he strongly stated no one or nothing can ever separate him with that which unites him with God.
“My radio set is out of bound for anyone in the house, I stay tuned to Sifa FM because that is where l make my Morning devotions from, my spiritual life is nourished and also get to know what is happening around the World.” Canon Ginna revealed.
As we conclude our interview, Canon Gimma reemphasized on the need for people to develop a routine of listening to the Gospel on Sifa FM rather than wait for Sunday Church Service or mass only.
“I have learnt and am committed to the culture of praying and hearing the Word of God daily through Sifa FM Radio station. Thank you for the good work team”
