The normally quiet, moonlit night in Sofia village was anything but ordinary as the atmosphere transformed into a powerful haven of worship and prayer. From the moment the first song rose like incense into the heavens, it was clear, this was no typical night. Voices united in praise, prayers thundered into the skies, and hearts realigned with divine purpose.
What had begun as an idea, nurtured through prayer and preparation, culminated in an unforgettable moment as SIFA FM Voi staff and the Taita Taveta Listeners Fans Club brought the gospel from the airwaves to the altar at the Christian Foundation Fellowship- CFF Voi.
From every voice, the atmosphere shifted, hearts opened, hands were lifted, and the heavens responded. What once lived only on airwaves was now alive in person: the gospel, raw and real, echoing across the church and into the night. The sanctuary couldn’t contain the crowd. Worshipers spilled into the compound, standing under the moonlit sky, drawn together by a shared hunger for God’s presence.
The Word That Stirred the Soul
Pastor Winfred Kioko of Agape Pentecostal Church, Miasenyi, delivered a stirring message on “Putting on the Full Armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10–18). Her words cut straight to the heart:
“We are not here to serve SIFA FM. We are here to serve God through SIFA FM. SIFA is a vessel given to us by God.”
It was a moment of clarity and conviction reminding everyone that the battle we fight is spiritual, and through God’s word, we have the tools to overcome. In order to be fully armed we must ensure that we resist the devil, read and practice God’s Word, be truthful, and show love.

But the night didn’t end with preaching. It turned into a celebration of faith, a test of Biblical understanding thru bible trivia, reading the Bible in Taita dialect, and the use of vocal talents in ministry thru the performance by upcoming gospel music artists like Hezeron Mzera (Aboo wa Ikanga), Rebecca, Joyce Kadido, Elias Mghanga, Agness Lela, Mfalme Sam, Peter Mwadima, Isaya Ibacha among others, the event was a joyful expression of faith in every form.
SIFA FM’s Voi Station Manager, Linda Akoth, spoke of the deep impact of these gatherings:
“Being hosted by our listeners is a rare and treasured opportunity. It helps us connect face-to-face with the community we serve and brings our mission to life beyond the radio waves. It reminds us why we do what we do as we expand our audience base and strengthen rapport.”
The heart behind the event could be seen in the passion of leaders like Stephen Kianga (Papa Fololo), President of the Taita Taveta SIFA Fans Club, who has seen firsthand the impact of SIFA FM:
“This station is more than a voice it’s a lifeline. Our members grow spiritually on every broadcast and gathering. It’s not just a radio station it’s fellowship.”
Other key guests included Edgar Kalimbo, Assistant Manager of SIFA FM stations, who called on listeners to continue supporting and owning the station, and Geoffrey Otieno from Trans World Radio Kenya‘s Audience Relations Department, who encouraged listeners to be active in sending feedback after listening to the programs so as to help improve programming and engagement.
Gratitude flowed freely for all who made the night possible: the listeners, the fans club leaders, Pastor Joyce Mbaga of the hosting church, Jamvi la Gumzo pastors and guest pastors, artists, intercessors, and every individual whose presence made the evening unforgettable.
SIFA Night vigil was truly unique! A memorable night filled with worship, prayer, and a powerful Word that touched hearts and awakened purpose. The radio station that has long spoken into homes now spoke directly into souls.

Voi will never be the same again as we wait for the next SIFA night organized by Oloitoktok SIFA Fans Club!
