Sifa FM Lamu has been a pillar of hope for many within Lamu County not only for the Christian faithful but also for our brothers from the Muslim side. We have provided an environment full of love and honesty such that every listener feels catered for, their religion notwithstanding.
It is this kind of treatment and the ministry of the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ through His word, that many are attracted to our radio station.
Today we are celebrating that one of our staunch listeners has seen the light, converted from Islam to Christianity by confessing with his mouth that Jesus is Lord. This listener joins the rest of us who believe in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and is now w saved.
Khamis Mramba as was formerly known grew up as a Christian until 1983 when he moved to Lamu from Kilifi at the age of 18 years. Here his boss compelled him to convert to Islam and ensured that happened by denying him is day off from work on Sundays so that he does not get time to go to church. The boss through these tricks got him to convert to Islam in order to get a day off work. Later he was given money as reward for converting to the Muslim faith.
One special thing about Mramba is that he does not change his radio frequency. Even when we are off air he still calls and sends messages to check on us and the moment we go back on air he is always the first to call. He has always been a big fan of our programs and the music playlist.
He likes to listen to Christian reggae music and the songs from the old days such as the Kasangas, Rev. Mwini Kimuyu among others which he says remind him of his good days as a Christian.
Khamis was helped to Christ by Pastor Simon Masha where he confessed that indeed Jesus is Lord and there is no other god to be worshiped. He changed his name and he is now known as Elias Mramba while his wife is now Margret Mramba from Barke, thanks to his Christian upbringing and Sifa FM programs which served as a constant reminder of the great of or Lord Jesus Christ.
He has since left for Tana River at his home and he is not willing to come back to Lamu any time soon for fear of persecution.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who due to His great mercy has caused Elias to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

It is such a joy when one (esp. of a different faith) without coercion but through their own volition believes and treasures Jesus Christ, his saving work, and his promises above everything else.
