Dr. Njoki Chege is a purpose-driven media and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in the media and academic sectors. She brings a wealth of leadership experience, having previously served as CEO of Kirk Media (Kirk TV), a media house owned by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), and as Director of the Innovation Centre at Aga Khan University, where she established East Africa’s first Media Innovation Centre. Using her strategic insight and innovation, she has previously
consulted for organizations such as Mozilla Corporation.
Trans World Radio (TWR) Kenya and SIFA FM Stations is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Evalyne Njoki Chege as its new Executive Director, effective 1/7/2025.
Dr. Chege succeeds Dr. Bernice Ndegi Gatere, who has faithfully and successfully led the organization for the past 23 years, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable growth, impactful ministry, and deep spiritual influence across Kenya and beyond.
In recognition of her transformative leadership, Dr. Chege has received numerous accolades, including being named among the Top 60 Most Transformative CEOs Impacting the Economy by Business Monthly East Africa (2023) and one of Kenya’ Top 25 Women in Digital by SOMA Awards (2020). She is a registered member of the Kenya Editors Guild and a former contributor to the Guild’s Innovation Committee.
Dr. Chege holds, a PhD in Communication, an MBA from Strathmore University, a Master’s Degree in Development Communication, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Daystar University, alongside a Diploma in Theological Education by Extension from the Presbyterian University of East Africa.
A committed born-again Christian and active member of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), Dr. Chege is deeply involved in youth mentorship and spiritual development. She is the founder of the Arise Mentorship Program and frequently ministers in churches within her local parish.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Evalyne Njoki Chege to the helm of Trans World Radio Kenya. Her deep passion for media, her steadfast Christian faith, and her visionary leadership are exactly what we need for continuity and building on the firm foundation laid by Dr. Bernice Gatere.
