Trans World Ragio Kenya and SIFA FM Stations welcomes Dr. Njoki Chege as the new Executive Director in a historic leadership handover filled with faith, vision, hope and embracing prospects of the digital future of gospel broadcasting.

July 11th 2025 marked a deeply moving and historic moment for Trans World Radio Kenya and Sifa FM Stations as we officially welcomed Dr. Njoki Chege as the new Executive Director, taking the mantle from Dr. Bernice Gatere, who gracefully enters retirement after years of visionary and steadfast leadership.

The induction ceremony was both joyous and emotional, an event filled with gratitude, worship, reflection, and a renewed sense of purpose.

The service was presided over by the Very Rev. Dr. Jesse Kamau, Moderator Emeritus of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), with the assistance of Retired. Rev. Francis N. Njoroge (9th Deputy Secretary General Emeritus of PCEA), Rev. Moses G. Kihara, and Rev. Simon Karanu. Mwai of Parish Minister, PCEA Gathaithi Parish

The sacred moment was witnessed by a strong show of unity and support. In attendance were Rev. Kwame Rubadiri (former National Director), Egide Bandyatuyaga TWR East Africa Ministry Director (who also representing Mr. Victor Kaonga International Director for TWR East and Southern Africa and Dr. Branko Bjelajac Vice President of TWR Africa, Europe and Camena region) , Valentine Gitoho former TWR International and TWR Kenya Board member, Ephy Hunja TWR Kenya Board Chairman, Gowi Odera Sifa FM Board Chairman, and many more distinguished guests, partners, and friends of the ministry. The atmosphere was beautifully lifted by worship from celebrated gospel artist Henrie Mutuku. (Manzi wa Maana hit)

A moving and inspiring reflection,
Rev. Kwame Rubadiri took the guests through the rich history of Trans World Radio Kenya, recalling the ministry’s humble beginnings when the staff included just Rev. Stephen Boakye Yiadom, Pastor David Mungai, and Rachel. By the time Rev. Rubadiri completed his tenure, the team had grown to over 40 staff members, a clear testament to the ministry’s faith-driven growth and the increasing demand for Christ-centered programming across Kenya.

Adding a powerful continental and global perspective, Director Egide Bandyatuyaga,, welcomed Dr. Njoki Chege into what he called the “The Big Family of TWR,” charged with the mission of proclaiming Christ through mass media so that lasting fruit is produced.

“The ministry of TWR in Africa began right here in Kenya in 1974, through Shortwave Broadcasts transmitted from Manzini, Eswatini (then Swaziland). Today, we harness all forms of modern communication platforms to share the Gospel with millions across the globe. And from everywhere, we are receiving testimonies of lives transformed by the power of God’s Word,” Egide shared with joy.

He also gave a heartfelt appeal to Dr. Njoki:
Take good care of the team you find in place motivate them, pray for them, encourage them. Do everything that is within your reach and leave the impossible to the Lord. TWR International remains fully committed to walking closely with TWR Kenya in this sacred mission.”

The sermon, delivered with passion and depth by Rev. Ambrose Nyagao, EBS, of Parkland Baptist Church and former TWR Kenya Board Member and long time friend of the ministry reminded all in attendance of God’s faithfulness and the call to continue broadcasting His Word with courage and clarity.

In her farewell remarks, Dr. Bernice Gatere offered wisdom and assurance to her successor
“You are not here by accident but through a calling. It is a calling that will stretch you, shape you, and strengthen you. And know this: You do not walk alone. God is with you, and your colleagues ; full of love stand ready to walk with you.”

Very Rev. Dr. Jesse Kamau leading the induction alongside other Pastors.

With warmth and clarity, Dr. Njoki Chege set the tone for the future:
We are in a season where we must embrace new technology and intentionally reach the younger audience many of whom are constantly connected to their phones and the internet, yet remain disconnected from God. They are part of the unreached group. In this age of noise, fear, and misinformation, we are commissioned to speak hope, bring peace, and embody the very change we long to see in the world.”

We also paused to honor our foundation, laid by the late Rev. Stephen Boakye Yiadom, whose vision to bring the Gospel to every ear still fuels our mission today.

As echoed by our TWR Kenya Board Chairman, Trans World Radio Kenya continues to grow and make a great impact, we do so with gratitude for the past, hope for the future, and unwavering faith in the God who leads us forward.

To everyone who joined us whether physically or in spirit your presence, prayers, and partnership remain a cherished part of this ministry. Together, we step forward boldly, committed to reaching the unreached and speaking life in every broadcast.
